127 Spayed Heifers Will Be for Sale Later This Spring/Summer

This powerful set of spayed heifers will be available for sale at a later date. They are what is left after we kept some replacements for ourselves and sold some others as replacements. They were born in the spring of 2021. They got their first round of shots at branding time. They remained healthy over the summer while out to grass. In August they got pre-conditioning shots. In October they were weaned and given another round of shots. At weaning, they were started on a DDG, cracked corn, and protein pellet grain mix and worked their way up to getting 4.5 pounds per day. They were running on meadows and got grass hay as well. They were spayed in February. We will continue feeding them grain mix for a little bit longer then they will go out to grass this summer until we consign them. This set of heifers will continue to grow and will continue to with whatever kind of feed you put in front of them. As of right now in mid-February we estimate their weight at about 625 lbs. We did all of the hard work so you don’t have to. They will be for sale at a later date at Bassett Livestock Auction in Bassett, NE. You can bid in person or online at https://auctions.cattleusa.com/. If you have any questions contact us or leave us your email so we can notify you when they have been consigned. I will post another video at a later date so you can see how they have grown.

We are located in the Sandhills of Nebraska where we’ve run our commercial black Angus operation for four generations now. Our heifers start calving in mid-February while the cows startup in March. The bulls we choose are meant to produce some stout calves that will make great feeder cattle and replacement heifers that turn into well-made cows that maintain their condition well.
